"How Do I know i'm getting real gold ?"

This is one of the most often asked questions by new clients.  So to help you gain confidence in your purchase from Silvertip, the following is a brief explanation of some of the procedures that are used in the authentication process.

As the sole proprietor of Silvertip, Gary personally checks and verifies every item myself, so there's no hired-hands or third parties that handle the metals.  All new products sold are produced at the Royal Canadian Mint in Ottawa, which is a world-renowned mint.  The RCM produces high grade bullion products that are accepted and sought after around the world.  For buy-back items, every item is thoroughly verified before it is purchased.

There are numerous processes that have been used over the years to expose counterfeit items.  Some are good, and some not so good, but no one test works for all situations.  Examples are such as the water density test, a magnet test, a temperature conductivity test, an acid test, a ring pitch test, a visual test, where you look through a magnifying glass to look to for certain mint marks, a weight test, and a dimensions test.  But  in my 10 years of being a gold dealer, I've come to know that all of these tests in and of themselves, are not necessarily accurate, and that no one tool, or testing device can replace the combination of research, hard work, and years of experience of working in the trade.  However, the Sigma Metalytics pictured below has proven to be a game changer for the precious metal industry, and is used extensively here at Silvertip as a quick and reliable proving instrument for just about every situation.

Silvertip is a locally owned business, where you're dealing directly with the owner, who is a certified Royal Canadian Mint Bullion Dealer.  He'll be glad to answer any questions you may have about the verification process, and what you can do to protect yourself from being a victim of the less than honest schemes out there.    He is also eager to share his knowledge of how and why, investing in gold and silver has proven successful throughout history, and can be a good and necessary way of protecting your wealth.  When you're ready to make your purchase, he'll be ready to assisted you in making sure that you're making a well-informed decision, so that afterwards, you can go about enjoying your life, knowing your "insurance" policy is safe and sound, ready for day when/if you need it.
